Disposing of Empty Cardboard Boxes

Jan 22, 2024

It is a violation of City Ordinance to throw any empty cardboard boxes off your float in the line-up area, during the parade, or in the disbanding area.

Violations of this guideline could result in your removal from the float. The Krewe will do as much as possible to remove cardboard boxes from the floats before the parade for items purchased from the Krewe. However, there will still be some items in cardboard boxes. To ensure compliance with the City Ordinance, we ask that you do the following:

  • If you purchased your own throws, please remove them from as many cardboard boxes as possible. The best thing to do is to put your throws into throw bags ahead of time before loading them onto your float. Additionally, the Krewe will have someone at the South Roman St. den on the Krewe Float Loading Day to collect all the empty cardboard boxes you have.
  • If you have an empty box on your float on parade day, please breakdown the box and keep it on your float for the duration of the ride. DO NOT THROW IT OVER THE SIDE OF THE FLOAT!

It is very important for all riders to follow these guidelines. Please contact your float lieutenant or the Krewe at for more information.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
