Sponsorships and the March to 500 Membership Drive

To help us achieve our membership goal of 500 riding members, the Krewe of Pontchartrain will again offer a sponsorship promotion in 2027. Pay your dues in full and you’ll receive a “sponsor code” to share with friends and family. For each qualifying NEW member that enters your sponsor code when they register, you’ll get a Krewe Coupon worth $100.

How does it work?

1. Member #1 signs up to ride and pays their membership dues in-full.
2. Member #1 receives their sponsor code from the Krewe of Pontchartrain.
3. Member #1  gets a new member – Member #2 – to sign up to ride in the Krewe.
4. If Member #2 uses the sponsor code for Member #1 when registering to ride, Member #1 will receive a $100 coupon credit from the Krewe that can be used for all future purchases sold directly from the Krewe, including event tickets and throws.
5. When Member #2 pays their membership dues in-full, then Member #2 will receive their own sponsor code from the Krewe.
6. Member #2 gets one or more new members – Member #3, #4, etc. – to sign up to ride in the Krewe.
7. For each new member that uses Member #2’s sponsor code when registering to ride, Member #2 will receive a $100 coupon credit from the Krewe that can be used for all future purchases sold directly from the Krewe, including event tickets and throws.
8. And so on, and so on…

What are the rules?

1. Members can give their sponsor code to as many prospective members as they want. There is no limit to the new members who can register using your sponsor code while the promotion is active.
2. Your sponsor code can be used when signing up by both Regular Members and Junior Members.
3. The sponsor code can only be used to sponsor “new members” of the Krewe. A “new member” is defined as:
   • Anyone who did not pay membership dues to the Krewe in 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026 …
     – OR –
   • Anyone who did not ride in the Krewe of Pontchartrain in 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026.
4. This promotion only applies to Junior Members and Regular Members of the Krewe. It is not applicable to the King, Queen, Maids, Junior Maids, or pages.
5. A member will only receive a sponsor code when their own dues are paid in full. If a member only pays a deposit, they will not receive their sponsor code until they complete their dues payment.
6. If a new member uses the sponsoring member’s code and only pays a deposit, the sponsoring member will still receive the $100 coupon.
7. The $100 coupon will only be issued to the sponsor member if the new member uses it when signing up. There will be absolutely no exceptions to this rule!

Other notes

1. The Krewe reserves the right to end this promotion at any time during the year or once our membership goal is achieved.
2. The Krewe will use both the website and a manual check for every new member that signs up using this promotion. The Krewe reserves the right to cancel a $100 coupon if it is determined that the new member that signs up using the sponsor code is not a new member as defined above. This can happen even after the sponsoring member has been issued a $100 coupon.
3. Sponsorship coupons must be used in the year they were issued. Any unused coupons at the end of the current year will expire. For example – coupons issued for the 2027 riding year will expire the day after the parade, which is January 31st, 2027.
