Terms, conditions, and code of conduct

Krewe Terms

  1. I hereby agree to abide by the rules of the Club and all other regulations as set forth by the City of New Orleans. I also understand that failure to abide by these rules and regulations will result in my immediate removal as a member of the Club.
  2. I understand that my yearly dues are only applicable to the current year and are NOT TRANSFERRABLE and NOT REFUNDABLE.
  3. I understand that substitutions in membership participation in Club activities ARE NOT ALLOWED.
  4. I understand that the minimum age for membership in the Krewe and to ride on a Krewe float and participate in all Krewe events is 16 YEARS OLD.
  5. I understand that individuals under the age of 18 and and riding on a Krewe float as a Junior member must ride with a parent or legal guardian.
  6. I understand that all paraphernalia used in Club activities such as floats, safety ropes, props, etc. are property of the Club and are not to be abused in any way.
  7. I understand that if the Krewe of Pontchartrain parade is canceled due to inclement weather, any other Act of God, or by the decision of the City of New Orleans or the New Orleans Police Department, the City Charter will not allow the parade to be rescheduled and refunds will not be issued.
  8. I agree to receive emails and/or text messages from the Krewe.

Krewe Code of Conduct

  • I will always wear my full costume, which includes the costume top and pants, hat, mask, and gloves while my float is traveling on the official parade route.
  • I will always wear my safety rope while on the float and while the float is moving. This is in the formation area, on the parade route, and in the disbanding area.
  • Should I choose to consume alcohol during the Krewe parade/events, I will do so responsibly and will not become intoxicated.
  • I will not bring glass bottles onto the float.
  • I will not smoke while on the float.
  • I will not toss throws while in the parade formation and disbanding areas.
  • I will not throw large or bulk items, including but not limited to packs of doubloons, packs of beads, or packs of other throws, as they can injure parade-goers. I will hand or gently toss those throws to parade attendees.
  • I will not display in any manner any endorsement of candidates for elective public office, nor any endorsement of any issues to be voted on in an election.
  • I will not throw the following types of beads, doubloons, or other items in the formation area, along the parade route, or in the disbanding area:
    1. Items which are redeemable for or entitle the bearer to a prize or a discount on the price of any food, beverage, merchandise, service, or admission to any event.
    2. Items containing words or images that display or communicate a commercial, political, or religious position or message.
    3. Condoms, prophylactics, or any sexually-oriented images or devices.
    4. Items containing sharp points, including but not limited to plastic spears or plastic, paper, or silk flowers with wire stems.
    5. Any “silly string” or other such item which, when used, emits an adhesive string-like or adhesive streamer-like substance that is shot or expelled from a pressurized container.
    6. Confetti or confetti cannons, whether mechanical or handheld.
    7. Toilet paper, bathroom tissue, paper streamers, or any other similar paper product customarily shipped and stored in a rolled condition.
  • During the Krewe parade/events, I will adhere to the highest standards of conduct to ensure that my actions uphold the reputation and integrity of the Krewe.
  • I will abide by the instructions of my float lieutenant regarding any instructions related to the above.
